Me llamo Clara y deje’ El Salvador hace 19 an~os debido a la presecusion del gobierno militar y opresor. Estoy muy feliz de ver que este dia a llegado finalmente y que el pueblo Salvadoren~o haya escogido el cambio.
Un cambio que no vendra con flores y rosas pero que representa esperanza para todos nuestros hermanos pobres y abandonados por el gobierno. La sangre derramada durante la guerra no ha sido en vano. Y nuestros martires al igual que todos nosotros celebran esta VICTORIA.

Dios te bendiga y guie tu presidencia Mauricio.

Let us pay tribute to all those who did not live not see this day, but who worked a lifetime to achieve it (and more!), those thousands whose blood and toil were spent in the struggle and inspired all of us who can now celebrate such a beautiful moment.

And let us dedicate ourselves to remaining steadfast in the struggle until the revolution is a reality.

Congratulations to FMLN and personally Funes! At least, after braving many obstacles, leftists win in El Salvador. After all and before all – this is tremendous achievement!

To our comrades in the FMLN, the vendors, the Women’s Secretariat, SETA, the healthcare workers, the students, the BPS, and so many others that have worked so hard for this incredible and hard fought victory, your strategic and tenacious grassroots work for decades continues to inspire us in the belly of the beast. Overcoming the legacy of the ruling class in El Salvador, endless US military, political, and economic intervention is a huge feat that will continue to build hope throughout the world for another kind of power.

To CISPES, for your loyal and committed partnership with the people of El Salvador-you are an inspiration to solidarity work throughout the world-using the power and privilege in the US to the advantage of the Salvadoran people and social movements.

Congratulations all, we wish we were there! Amor! Cambio! Revolucion!
