Solidarity Cycler Success!

News

They did it! Over 100 miles in 2 days, the Solidarity Cyclers 2007 bikeride was a success! Most of the story is told through a shortvideo which you can view online here (takes some time to download)

(the low quality youtube version is here .)

To make a long story short, eight riders ended up going around 110miles, cruising on an array of road bikes, mountain bikes, tour bikes, and wobbly 20-year old clunkers.

It was tough at times but we only had one nasty crash and one flat tire, and we never got lost (for very long.) We camped under the stars at a beautiful organic vegetable farm in Wheatland, Virginia, and finished up the ride with a potluck dinner back in Washington DC. We couldnt have done it without our faithful support team, mostly members of the FMLN Washington DC committee You can check out pictures of the ride here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/15406433@N05/ and here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/solidaritycyclers2007/

Once again, we thank all of you who have supported the ride and the great work of the Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador dont forgot to send in your pledge if you havent already (online donations can be made here , or checks made out to CISPES Education Fund can be sent to 1525 Newton St. NW Washington DC 20010.)

Look out for solidarity cyclers 2008!
