US Organizations call on President Obama to stop interfering in Venezuela

News

In an open letter addressed to President Barack Obama, over 100 U.S. academics, activists and organizations, including CISPES, called on the President to rescind his Executive Order declaring Venezuela “an unusual and extraordinary threat to U.S. national security” and imposed  sanctions on a number of Venezuelan officials.

This letter joins the calls of leaders from over 138 countries and many prestigious multilateral organizations in demanding that President Obama rescind his measures against Venezuela. Latin American and Caribbean nations, including El Salvador, have unanimously rejected President Obama’s Executive Order against Venezuela and have firmly called for its reversal.
