Calling all women organizers and community leaders! Join the Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador and the Coalition of Labor Union Women this Friday, July 17th at 12pm to celebrate the recent people’s victory in El Salvador at a brown bag lunch with Audelia Lopez, a coordinating member of the women’s secretariat for El Salvador’s leftist-social movement party, the FMLN.

Audelia and the National Women’s Secretariat were instrumental in the popular organization that brought about the March 15th historic victory of President Mauricio Funes and Vice-president Salvador Sanchez Ceren as the first leftist president and vice-president in the history of El Salvador.

 Join Audelia and other women leaders throughout DC/MD/VA to share experiences, ideas, and challenges that we face as women in the fight to build a strong and powerful social movement.

 Detailed directions:
AFT is situated on the northeast corner of F and New Jersey Avenue, NW.  It is one block west of North Capitol Street, south of Massachusetts Avenue.  It is accessible from the Red Line- Union Station Stop which is two blocks east of the building.  When exiting the Metro, turn right and come down Massachusetts Ave., NE to North Capitol. Cross MassachusettsF Street, NW (the Phoenix Park Hotel and the Dubliner are the landmarks.)  Continue to the end of the block and you will be at the door of the AFTBuilding (bright blue stripe on it!).  Come in and identify yourself to the desk guard who will arrange for you to come to the conference room.
