Tell Congress to Vote DOWN Colombia, Panama, Korea Trade Deals at Tomorrow's Vote
News
CISPES Action Alert: October 11, 2011 - adapted from Witness For Peace
While the 99% stand up to corporate greed by occupying Wall Street and cities across the country, Congress is getting set to pass three free trade deals that put corporate profits ahead of people and the environment. This is our LAST CHANCE to say no to these trade deals that will kill jobs at home while hurting workers, farmers and the environment in Colombia, Panama and South Korea. The House will vote on them tomorrow. The Senate will vote shortly thereafter. TAKE ACTION: Make your call today with this simple script! Call the capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected to the office of your Representative or your Senator. If you don't know who represents you, they'll ask for your address to identify your elected officials.
Ask to speak with the aide who handles legislative or trade issues and say:
“My name is ____. I am a constituent calling to urge Representative/Senator ____ to take a stand for fair trade, labor rights and the environment by voting against the pending free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and South Korea.”
After the first call, call your other members of Congress too (one Representative and two Senators).
And make sure you take 30 seconds to send an email to your elected officials through the Witness for Peace online action center.
This is our last chance to demand Congress vote down these unfair trade agreements.
Thank you for taking a stand for justice over corporate greed.
