At CISPES we are planning ahead for next year! Our top priorities: 

• Educate people in the US about the exciting alternatives to corporate domination and social injusticethat the new government in El Salvador and popular movements across theAmericas are advancing.  This spring, we plan to bring a new delegationto learn firsthand from the transformations underway -- stay tuned for more information!

• Builda far-reaching, grassroots base across the country that is prepared to act swiftly in the event of  a destabilization or coup attempt in El Salvador, as has occurred in Honduras and Ecuador.  We must be prepared to take action if we are called upon.

• Mobilize a broad coalition of solidarity, fair trade, labor and immigrants rights organizations to expandour campaign against CAFTA (aka NAFTA for Central America, which is putting corporate profit ahead of the livelihoods of working people everywhere, including here in the US).

Withexciting changes on the horizon in El Salvador and new challenges to overcome, the demand for powerful grassroots political action across ourhemisphere continues to grow. 

Your support has allowed CISPES to achieve many solidarity victories in 2010:convictions in the case of murdered community leader Marcelo Rivera, defending union leaders in the public hospitals, building an international coalition to stop two multinational corporations that are suing El Salvador.
