Solidarity with Salvadoran Social Movements

El Salvador has diverse and robust movements organizing for social and economic justice. CISPES accompanies unions, women’s organizations, farmer organizations, environmental organizations, student organizations, LGBT organizations and others in their struggle to build a new society based on equality and participatory democracy.

The Salvadoran social movement is the country’s strongest defense against attacks on national sovereignty, workers' rights, women’s rights and the environment. Through CISPES’ Emergency Response Network, we mobilize grassroots pressure when these movements are under attack or need our solidarity here in the United States.

The CISPES Education Fund is committed to financially supporting women-led, worker-led, youth-led and community-based organizing. Each year, CISPES chapters raise money in order to provide a number of organizations at the forefront of the struggle with small grants to support their critical mobilization work.

"Apoyo a CISPES porque continuar la lucha para la justicia social y un pais enfocado en el pueblo significa continuar el sueno y sacrificio de miles de mis compatriotas Salvadoreñas que dieron su vida por esta visión. - Padre Carlos, New York City
