2017 MAY DAY DELEGATION TO EL SALVADOR

Travel to El Salvador with CISPES to accompany organized workers and the popular social movement at the massive International Workers' Day March.

During the delegation, we will meet with popular social movement leaders and members of the governing leftist FMLN party to:

  • Understand the current social, economic and political context in El Salvador and the consequences of US foreign policy
  • Hear first-hand about the impact of US immigration policy, including deportation and border militarization
  • Visit new government projects to witness the FMLN's vision for people-centered governance
  • Learn about organizing strategies to confront corporate control and fight for structural change in the face of right-wing opposition and US intervention

Arrival Date: April 23, 2017
Departure Date: May 4, 2017

Cost: $1,100 + Airfare (includes all food, lodging, transportation, and logistics)
No Spanish language skills necessary, interpretation to English provided
