A special message from the government of El Salvador

Noticias

Dear Alexis,
“What we have built could be undone overnight.”

That’s what a lot of people told us when I was in El Salvador last summer on the CISPES literacy brigade, visiting rural communities where every last adult has learned to read and write in the last 3 years.
I heard the urgency in their voices: there is so much at stake in the next Presidential elections.

Right now, the stage is being set for an electoral show-down in February that will determine the fate of El Salvador’s transformation. Give today to help us send two delegations this summer to accompany the revolutionary project!

This summer is a critical turning point - and our last chance to get CISPES activists on the ground before the 2014 elections.
We know that preventing US intervention in the elections will require a strong grassroots campaign - and committed new organizers to lead it.

That’s why we need to get as many people as possible – especially young people and young Salvadorans like me– on the ground to see these changes for themselves, get fired up, and come back ready to organize!

We need to raise $10,000 by June 21st to complete our scholarship fund to help cover the travel costs of our delegates. Can you make a generous donation now to support the future leaders of our campaign?

Our world is at a crossroads and the leftward shift in Latin America has global implications for all of our struggles. Our generation is ready to be part of turning the tide – thank you for your support!
